When the weather is fine, there’s nothing more invigorating than going for a swim – or even just a dip. At Blanc Bois, the choice is yours: design your own pool oasis on your lot or beach park. But there’s something incredibly zestful about swimming in fresh water, and – being comparatively shallow – the waters of Lake Erie warm up earlier in the season than other spots in Canada.
Rod and Reel
On both sides of the border, Lake Erie is popular among fishing enthusiasts who come to reel in walleye and small mouth bass. Host a fishing expedition in your boat, or fish from shore solo-style. Sport fishing or fishing for delicious additions to your diet is a winning game at Bois Blanc Resort.
To do our part in ensuring sustainability for this well-loved pastime, we’re enhancing habitat around the island in key locations to promote fish spawning.
Bois Blanc Island is a boater’s paradise. As an island completely surrounded by water, it’s the gateway to Lake Erie and the Detroit River. Continuing north, enterprising boaters can sail to Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron. Launch a two-hour excursion by kayak around the island, go out for the day in a sailboat, or sail away for a multi-day excursion around the Great Lakes.
Bois Blanc is ideally set up for boaters of all stripes. New Marina slips are planned to be added to the existing 120 slip marina on an on-demand basis for our new homeowners for visitors and residents, with a marina building with play area, and amenities for boaters.
